Transforming Our Cabin: Finishing the Siding & Enhancing Curb Appeal

Unfinished work from previous owners

One of the most impactful projects we've completed on our cabin is finishing the siding. When we first bought the property, the previous owners had added onto the home but never fully finished it. That left an unfinished, mismatched exterior that didn’t do the cabin any favors.

After some careful color matching, we were able to find siding that blends almost seamlessly with the existing structure. While there’s a slight difference in shade if you look closely, the overall transformation is incredible! Paired with our new roof, the siding gives the cabin a more polished and complete look.

Clearing the Clutter

In addition to upgrading the siding, we also tackled another major eyesore—two poorly built sheds behind the house. These structures weren’t just an eyesore; they were also prime real estate for critters looking for shelter. Removing them instantly cleaned up the backyard, making the space feel more open, organized, and inviting.

A Much-Needed Makeover

When we first stepped onto this property, it was clear she needed some serious TLC. The home looked neglected, rundown, and far from the cozy retreat we envisioned. Honestly, I thought my husband had lost his mind when he decided to buy it!

But as we complete more projects, I see what he saw all along—the potential. With every improvement, we’re turning this once-forgotten property into a home we’re truly proud of. The siding and roof are just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
